A BREAKTHROUGH
Today has been a great day so far. I completely had a breakthrough. For those regular readers, you know that one of my goals this year is to learn to like coffee. This is something I have really wanted to do for a really long time but I had such a distaste for it in the past that I never made any steps towards learning to like it. And maybe here is where I should insert my theory on learning to like drinks. I've found that I can learn to like ... at least tolerate ... a drink if I force myself to have 3 of them. It doesn't have to be at the same time. And it's preferrable that it be at different times. But I've found that I can get myself to like something if I can fight through it 3 times. I used to not like root beer. I forced down a bottle on 3 different occasions and now IBC is one of my favorite drinks. I used to not like beer. I forced down at least a bottle on 3 different occasions. It's now one of my favorite drinks. So why should it be any different with coffee? It stands to reason that it should work the same .... but this time (and by this time I mean the past 10 years) I've had trouble making myself try it. Enter a coffee accountability partner, if you will. She makes coffee for me, tells me things I can put in it to make it taste better and most importantly she makes me drink it. I've been drinking coffee with french vanilla creamer on and off now for a few months, but always at other people's houses. Today however, I am delighted to report that I made my first pot of coffee (EVER!) and put away almost 2 whole cups. This is craziness. Absolute craziness. And if I can say so ... it was damn good coffee. So if you're looking for moderately good company and very good coffee ... let me know.
